Thoubal Block Congress Committee (TBCC) on Saturday demonstrated a silent sit-in protest with their mouths covered, against the Modi-led BJP rule, at the gate of the Thoubal District Congress Office at Thoubal district.
TBCC president Waikhom Inaojuge alleged that democracy has lost its meaning under the rule of the BJP government. He accused PM Modi and CM Biren-led BJP rule of silencing anyone who speaks up against them. He continued that TBCC condemned the alleged excessive measures taken up by the BJP against Rahul Gandhi and assured that the committee will continue supporting all steps taken for Rahul Gandhi.
TBCC general secretary Yumnam Basanta alleged that India was once revered globally as the largest democratic nation but as the BJP party came into rule in 2014, India’s reputation started descending. He also accused the BJP rule of abusing their power and attempting to silence anyone who speaks up against their wrongdoings.
The event was also participated by TBCC president Khangembam Manglem, District Congress Committee Thoubal president N Lukhoi and vice president Kh Muhindro.
