Thongju Kendra Tengbang Lup (TKTL) established its women's wing and appointed Keithelakpam Nungshi Devi as chairman, Nandeibam Ganga Devi as vice-chairman, Ningombam Indira Devi as convenor, RK Rani Devi and Sagolsèm Rebita Devi as co-convenors.
The women wing was established following a resolution passed during a general body meeting of TKTL held on Sunday at Singjamei Wangma kshetri leikai Imphal East, said publicity secretary of TKTL Konsam Diraj Singh in a release.
It stated that the meeting unanimously elected Ningthoujam Yaima from Uchekon Takhok Mapal as the new Treasurer in-charge of TKTL.
The members present during the meeting also extended warm reception to the 56 women and 44 men who have newly joined the TKTL. Altogether the TKTL has now 612 members, mentioned in the release.
The annual financial and activities report of TKTL was also presented in the meeting which was presided by its president Oinam Romeo, chief patron Seram Neken and legal advisor N Angothoiba, it added.
