Intending candidate of Khangabok assembly constituency Thokchom Jadumani on Sunday resigned from primary membership of BJP and launched preparations to contest the upcoming state general assembly election by joining the JD-U.
In a press meet held at the residence of Thokchom Jadumani, he said that he had been working for the BJP party from 1994 as the state secretary and the vice president as he believed that BJP was an honest party but the recent party ticket announcement had proven otherwise. He added that he had decided to contest the upcoming election with JD(U) as urged by his supporters. Speaking on the occasion, president of Laishram Tomba said that the members and presidents of all 47 booths of Khangabok assembly constituency unanimously decided to resign and shut down the respective BJP mandal.
The event was attended by president of BJP Khangabok mandal Laishram Tomba Khuman; vice president; president of Minority morcha; and booth president of Khangabok and members.
Meanwhile, BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesperson and intending candidate of Wangkhem assembly constituency Nimaichand Luwang submitted his resignation letter to party president A Sharda Devi.
In a press meet held at the residence of Nimaichand Luwang, he said that he will contest the upcoming election with another party of which he has yet to decide.

Speaking on the occasion, president of BJP Wangkhem mandal L Sunil said that the BJP Wangkhem mandal will be shut down since the BJP party had disregarded the sacrifices and efforts of its dedicated members and denied the party ticket.
Different constituencies of Thoubal district witnessed burning of BJP party flags by supporters of intending candidates who did not get the BJP party ticket.
