Manipur Transport Minister Khashim Vashum along with Tribal Affairs and Hills Minister Letpao Haokip inaugurated the District Transport Office (DTO) at DC complex, Tengnoupal on Saturday.
Speaking at the occasion, Letpao Haokip said, "We have fulfilled the dream and demand of the people". He appealed the gathering and people of the district to give cooperation to all the government officials of different departments who are working in the district.
The minister said that all necessary infrastructure and required department will be opened soon after the discussion with the chief minister.
People of the district mainly depend on the business sector as there is no farming land in the district, he said, urging all officials and security forces to give cooperation to the business sector.
Business of food items, textile products and household items should not be disturbed by any security forces. He also appealed to the public to shun violence, bandh and blockade for any demands.
Government offices should be protected by one and all as it is the public property, he continued.
Vashum also urged the people of the district to cooperate with the staff of DTO and update all required documents for any vehicle.
The inaugural function was also attended by Michael Achom- secretary, Transport Department Manipur, Navidita Lairenlakpam, Director of Transport, Ranjan Yumnam, DC Tengnoupal along with different government departments official, CSOs leaders and different villages' chief.
