An inspection drive at the fire-gutted Tokpaching Aided High School at Hiyanglam in Kakching district was conducted by a team led by Hiyanglam assembly constituency MLA Yumnam Radheshyam on Wednesday.
The team led by Hiyanglam MLA Yumnam Radheshyam along with Kakching ZEO Y Achouba inspected the damages at the Tokpaching Aided High School which was gutted in a fire that was allegedly started by unknown miscreants around 11.30 pm on Monday.
MLA Yumnam Radheshyam said that for the well-being of the career of the students he will reconstruct and repair the damaged school infrastructure, stating that he will use his Local Area Development Fund if need be.
He assured that he will also consult with the education ministers and the other ministers and authorities concerned. A Fire Sub Station will also be constructed at Waikhong to respond to such emergencies, he added. He also urged the locals to extend their support in helping the school and the students.
Meanwhile, the locals of Tokpaching and Sarik Village conducted a meeting regarding the Tokpaching High School fire. The meeting concluded to collect contributions from the locals for the reconstruction and repair of the school.
At the meeting, the locals also announced that the miscreants involved should surrender within five days and added that in failure to surrender, they will be forced out of the village in case they are caught.
