Hectic preparations are underway to ensure a grand celebration of Tamenglong Orange Festival 2022, which is being organised with the theme ‘Tamenglong Orange Overcome Boundaries’ at Tamenglong HQ. The festival will be held for three days from December 17 to 19.
This year, the 17th edition of the festival will have 290 stalls, including 210 orange stalls at the festival main venue - Tamenglong Mini Stadium Apollo Ground, according to the district administration.
The district administration has selected as many as 210 orange growers to participate in the Best Orange competition.
The cash prize for the winner of the Best Orange Contest is Rs 2,00,000; Rs 1,50,000 for the second position and Rs 1,00,000 for the third position. A sum of Rs 20,000 each has also been fixed.
Other highlights of the festival include Orange Queen Contest, camping and adventure at different tourist spots, motor rally, musical night, Tamenglong Got Talent, seminar for orange growers, etc.
