The Left Coordination Committee, Manipur on Wednesday extended support for the two-day nationwide general strike on March 28 and 29 declared by the Central Trade Union Organisation, Independent Federation, Association and Samyukta Kishan Morcha.
A release stated that the Left Coordination Committee, Manipur supports the two-day nationwide general strike against the economic policies of the BJP-led Union government. It accused the BJP-led government of denying the working class people’s hard earned rights, while catering to the greed of the wealthy private corporate which helped the BJP to come into power.
Condemning the BJP government’s policy of privatisation of public sector units, the committee alleged that the policy contributes to the increase in the rate of unemployment owing to the pandemic.
