Several students and others expressed their support to help eradicate TB in Kangpokpi district, on the occasion of World TB Day 2023 observation in Kangpokpi.
DTC staff, Piramal team, TB survivor, Youth leader, Asha workers and students from Emmanuel School Haipi participated in the event organized in Kangpokpi district under the theme "Yes! We can end TB" by the Piramal Foundation in collaboration with District TB Office Kangpokpi.
Phaldeitheng Kipgen, District Program Officer, Piramal Foundation, highlighted the National TB Elimination Program and its collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs aided by Usaid and how the organization works towards the elimination of TB in the country by 2025.
The awareness session during the event was taken up by the District TB Officer Dr. Len Kamkhosat Khongsai where he highlighted how and when World TB Day began to be observed. He also appealed to the people to help in eradicating TB by 2025.
Sensitization and awareness of TB was given to students and leaders, ASHAs, and everyone present at the event.
The DPO of the district presented a PowerPoint presentation on TB, causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, incentives provided by the government, and information regarding the nearest DMC.
