The Bharatiya Janata Party Manipur Pradesh has lauded the initiatives of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reducing the disturbed area from the north-eastern states, including Manipur.
State BJP president A Sharda Devi told media at its state head office located at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal on Friday that reduction of disturbed areas from Manipur and north-eastern states is an example that the BJP is concerned for the people of north-eastern states, including Manipur.
The issue of Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) in Manipur has been continuing for decades and the people have asked the BJP, while launching its election manifesto, why the issue was not included in its election manifesto, she said.
The BJP is always concerned about the people of Manipur and north-eastern states and the BJP is the party that shows action instead of mere promises with the motto ‘People’s voice, our duty’, the president added.
She said to improve the welfare for the people of Manipur, the BJP government had launched a 100 days action plan programme which highlights various programmes to be initiated to bring welfare and development for the state.
The BJP government has already appointed government officials for each sub-division of Manipur to initiate the work programme. To assist the government officials, the state BJP has selected its workers for each sub-division, the president informed.
She assured that the BJP government will bring welfare and development for the people of Manipur in the next five years.
