The Socialist Students’ Union of Manipur (SSUM) on Wednesday pledged to take lead roles in ensuring resettlement for the displaced victims of the Meetei community in the prevailing conflict in the state.

SSUM, in a release, said the union is all set to take necessary measures to uphold its decision and see it through.
The Meitei community will not sit idle when all their villages have been burned down by the armed militants, it said, adding that it would also be unwise for the government to allegedly remain mute spectators in the situation.

It reiterated its promise to provide necessary assistance to the displaced victims and called upon the people to extend their support and efforts in their resettlement strategy.
