The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on Thursday declared the revised final result for the state of Manipur in regards to the recruitment of Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau Examination, 2022.
According to the SSC, the final result for the same was declared by the Commission on August 20, 2023 for all states/UTs except for Manipur. The final result dated August 20, 2023 was processed for 49,590 vacancies (except 597 vacancies for the State of Manipur) wherein 45,217 candidates (40,229 Male & 4,988 Female) were provisionally recommended for appointment whereas the candidature of 1,337 candidates was kept withheld, the commission stated.
The commission further stated that at the time of declaration of the said final result of the aforesaid examination, the physical and medical tests could not be conducted due to the law and order situation in Manipur. Therefore, the result for the State of Manipur for 597 vacancies could not be declared on August 20, 2023.
Subsequently, the final result for the State of Manipur was declared on the website of the Commission on March 15, 2024, the SSC said, adding that the Physical and Medical Tests in respect of the candidates belonging to Manipur had been conducted in multiple phases due to the law and order situation in the State.
While processing the result dated March 15, 2024, the data pertaining to one phase was inadvertently missed out, the commission said.
Accordingly, the final result declared on March 15, 2024 for the State of Manipur was withdrawn vide the Commission’s Notice dated March 18, 2024, the SSC said, adding that based on a comprehensive review of the complete data, the discrepancy has been rectified and changes have been affected in the result declared on March 15, 2024.
The PET/PST of the candidates from the State of Manipur was conducted by the CAPFs from Mayc 1, 2023 to May 3, 2023 and November 1, 2023 November 6, 2023. In addition, candidates hailing from Manipur, who appeared in CBE and PET/PST from examination centres of other States, were also qualified in the PET/PST. The Document Verification (DV)/ Detailed Medical Examination (DME)/ Review Medical Examination (RME) of the shortlisted candidates from the State of Manipur was conducted by the CAPFs from January 29, 2024 to February 10, 2024.
A total of 597 vacancies for the state of Manipur have been considered for allocation to BSF (Border Security Force), CISF (Central Industrial Security Force), CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal), ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police), AR (Assam Rifles), NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) and SSF (Secretariat Security Force), the commission said.
The SSC stated that keeping the above in view, the category-wise (0-EWS, 1-SC, 2-ST, 3-ESM, 6-OBC and 9-UR) break-up of the candidates provisionally selected are as follows – 0/8 (EWS), 0/1 (SC), 9/9 (ST), 3/8 (OBC) and 15/16 (UR) totalling to 27 selected out of 42 vacancies for female. Of the 15 selected from 16 UR, the commission stated that it includes 10 from ST and 3 from OBC.
As for the male candidates, the commission stated that the selection as follows – 0/79 (EWS), 6/17 (SC), 158/158 (ST), 34/92 (OBC) and 193/209 (UR), totalling to 391 out of 555 vacancies. The SSC further stated that in the 193 selected under UR, 1 belonged to EWS, 14 from SC, 130 from ST and 29 from OBC.
The commission stated that no candidates have been selected against the all-India vacancies of NCB and SSF while informing that the results of two candidates bearing Roll No. 5502003660 and 2201198830 have been withheld.
Other terms and conditions as mentioned in the final result dated August 20, 2023 will remain the same, the commission said, adding that detailed marks of the qualified / non-qualified candidates for the State of Manipur will be made available on the website of the Commission shortly.
