'Solo Walker' helps 200 flood-hit households in Assam's Ningthem village with essentials

Flood-hit Ningthem village at Lakhipur sub division in Assam is inhabited by Meitei and Pangal community from Manipur.

As many as 200 flood-affected households at Ningthem village, which is settled by Meitei and Pangal community from Manipur, at Lakhipur sub division in Assam were provided essentials by ‘solo walker’ Manikanta Mutum.

Concerning the distribution of aid, Manikanta recalled that MLA of Wangkhei assembly constituency Thangjam Arunkumar had flagged off his campaign of planting and nurturing tree saplings, stated a release.

The campaign was organised by Singjamei 360, he mentioned, adding that he took part in planting of tree saplings at schools and colleges in Manipur before coming to Ninthem village to provide the aid, it stated.

Manikanta said that he is unemployed but able to provide aid to the needy by assistance and generosity of many benefactors from Manipur.

The households received two kg of rice each besides other dry ration. Manikanta expressed gratitude to the admin of Cachar Dairy Meira Khuman, one Roshan Wahengbam from Lakhipur Khuman and the residents of Ningthem village for their help and assistance in distributing the essentials, it added.
