Kanglei Sintha Semkat Lup Singjamei Bazaar on Tuesday appealed to the authorities of private banks and microfinances to refrain from asking the beneficiaries to repay their respective loans, considering their plight amid the prevailing crisis.
In a release, the organisation highlighted the adversities faced by the daily wage earners, including women vendors, shopkeepers and small business owners, owing to the present conflicts.
The daily wage earners are facing immense difficulties to repay their loans to the private banks and micro-finance as their livelihoods have been abruptly halted by the unforeseen conflict, it mentioned.
The organisation has also submitted a memorandum to the CM to bring amicable settlement at the earliest with consideration of the stakeholders of both the warring communities in the interest of the public, it added.
