In a major achievement for the residents of Tamenglong district, at least six youth that were trained by Assam Rifles have been selected in the latest recruitment in the Indian Army.
Assam Rifles Tamenglong battalion on Thursday celebrated their success and felicitated the selected Agniveer candidates at Tamenglong.
The rigorous pre-recruitment training conducted by Assam Rifles saw participation of 31 youths of which at least 16 passed the written tests, out of which, six candidates have finally been selected for Agniveer training in Indian Army.
While felicitating the soldiers-to-be, Assam Rifles Tamenglong Battalion commandant Colonel Aman Ahluwalia SM conveyed best wishes and encouraged the selected candidates to be role models for the young generation and defence service aspirants.
The commandant also encouraged other youths to keep working hard and aim to get selected in the upcoming recruitment rallies.
The successful candidates and their families expressed their gratitude towards the efforts of Assam Rifles for the professionally conducted pre-recruitment rally that has given a new lease of life to the six local families.
