A combined team of the state and central forces recovered three 51mm mortar shells and three 84 mm mortar shells from a paddy field in the area of Sahumphai village under Chandel districts and one IED from the paddy field located in the area between Kangvai and S Kotlian villages under Churachandpur district.
The sophisticated arms were recovered by the combine team during an operation continued in different parts of the state to neutralised the prevailing unrest in Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per report, the recovered mortar shells and IED were demolished at the respective spots by the State Bomb Disposal Team.

A release by the Manipur Police Control Room also informed that as many as 12 bunkers were destroyed in various districts both in the hills and the valley during a combing operation conducted in the last 24 hours in Tamenglong, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur and Kakching districts.
It maintained that a total of 1,100 arms, 13,702 ammunitions and 250 bombs of different kinds have been recovered till date.
The release also highlighted that the situation in Manipur is tense but under control in some places with some sporadic incidents but normal in most districts.
Stating that the state and central forces have been conducting patrolling, flag marches and cordon and search operations in vulnerable areas, it said in the last 24 hours, police have arrested 135 persons in connection with curfew violations, theft in abandoned houses, arson cases and others.
Flag marches, area domination and cordon and search operations are continuing in various parts of the state as security measures, it added.
Meanwhile, the Tamenglong district police had confiscated as many as 1,000 case (12,000 bottles) of Indian Made Foreign Liquor on Saturday night while smuggling in Barak Bridge area under Tousem police station during a frisking and checking of vehicles coming from Jiribam side.
According to police source, the driver of the liquor-laden vehicle is identified as one Jakir Hussian, 30, son of Sahabul Hussain of Bangaiaon, Assam.
During police investigation, it was revealed that the owner of the truck is identified as Surender Pandit, 50, of Bihar, presently residing in Guwahati and the owner of the confiscated liquor is identified as RK Gupta, 37, of Bihar presently living at Thangal Bazaar in Imphal.
The driver has been detained following formalities and a case has been registered for further investigation.
