Merely shouting "women empowerment" without action cannot bring progress for the people, intending candidate of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa assembly constituency Soraisam Kebi said.
Kebi made the remark at a one-day booth level committee meeting held at Kodompokpi Mamang Leikai on Monday.
Intending candidates should compete with each other by doing developmental works instead of only making promises. Indulging in politics by only making speeches instead of initiating any developmental activities will not last, she added.
Money is needed while doing politics but a good politician uses the money rightly to bring welfare and to serve the people instead of bribing them. Helping a needy person who does not have essential commodities is not bribery, she added.
Asserting that only women can understand the issue of women properly, she said that she came out as an intending candidate for the coming state legislative assembly election to bring women empowerment in the state, she added.
