The Shija Hospitals, Imphal, on Friday announced free treatment facilities for all the victims of the current unrest in Manipur.
Announcing it to the media during a press conference held at the hospital in Imphal West, its chairman Dr Kh Palin informed that the treatment will include OPD, hospital admission, investigations, operations, ICU care, medicines and consumables for those who cannot afford themselves.
He said, individuals requiring free services of the hospital can reach our call centre No 9007900794 and 9611609611 which will be available round the clock.
Stating that the cost of treatment will be sponsored by all the 1590 caregivers of Shija along with rendering the expert services to the patients, he said besides there will be sponsorship from outside the hospitals by few companies have committed to supply Lab Reagent free of cost, 11 medical stores who are committed to providing consumables, including medicines, and Royal Cafe who is willing to provide free mess.
So far the hospital has treated 16 people (victims) since the beginning of the crisis for free and at subsidised rates, he added.
To ensure that the free service runs smoothly, the hospital will be utilising the subside of CMHT or PMJAY if the victims possess those cards, he said, adding that the hospital has also apprised the government to enable immediate issuance of CMHT or PMJAY at the hospital itself for those victims who are still not the beneficiary of the scheme.
Palin further informed that Shija has started free OPD for all general public in 11 departments and 20 per cent discount in investigations and procedures since June 1 to 10 to ease the burden of the public and more than 2000 individuals have availed of the said offer.
