Shija holds Free Eye Camp

During the camp, more than 500 individuals were screened for eye-related issues.

To mark 38 years of medical revolution in the region, the Shija Eye Care Foundation organised a two-day "Free Eye Camp" at Shija Hospitals, Langol, on July 8 and 10, 2023.

A team of experts from the Department of Ophthalmology provided comprehensive eye care for Glaucoma, Cornea, Retina, Squint, Ptosis, Cataract, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Oculoplasty. The camp was supported by Shija OPTICALS, Takhellambam Premkumar, Dy Manager – Business Development of Shija said in a release.

During the camp, more than 500 individuals were screened for eye-related issues, with 128 operable cases including 78 Cataracts, 42 Pterygias, four Entropions, two Squints, one Blepharoplasty, and one Excision case, Premkumar said.

He further stated that NPCB (NHM) will offer free cataract surgeries for the patients, adding that PMJAY and CMHT cardholders may also avail themselves of the facilities for all procedures.
