The Meitei Resurgence Forum (MRF) on Saturday condemned the separate administration demand issued by 10 Kuki MLAs, stating that their demand was founded on lies and distorted facts to favor the narrative of the Kuki community.
The forum maintained that no representatives from the valley and other tribal communities had voiced any biased opinions nor worked in favour of one particular community since the clash erupted.
Speaking to the media at the Manipur Press Club on Saturday, MRF general secretary Oinam Doren expressed disappointment over the 10 MLAs “for basing their political principles on ethnic lines.”
“They represent the people of Manipur and the push for such a vested demand when the people are striving to usher in peace shows the degradation of their political principle and ideology,” he said.
Doren further condemned the narco-terrorism unleashed by SoO Kuki militants against innocent civilians. He also condemned the Central forces for remaining mute spectators in the whole issue. They have failed to provide security and protection to the people, he added.
He expressed suspicion that the whole incident has been pre planned and coordinated to expand the territory of the Kuki militants and their people.
Using their minority tag, they have been pushing a one-sided narrative and not exposing the full picture, he added. He urged state authorities to take up stringent measures in driving out the militants and restoring peace and normalcy in the state.
He further demanded the authorities to clarify their political stance on connection to the demands of the 10 MLAs.
