The Senior Citizen Welfare Association (SCWA), Churachandpur held its 9th Annual General Assembly (Council) 2020-2021 cum General Election at Rayburn High School Auditorium, New Lamka on Saturday.
The association was established in 2006 and has more than 2,300 members. Altogether 17 new executive members were elected for the term 2021-2023 and the assembly approved a budget for the association at Rs 5,82,000.
MLA of Churachandpur, V Hangkhanlian who attended as chief guest of the function said that he is always ready to help SCWA. He donated a sum of Rs 10 lakh from his MLA Local Area Development Fund to the association for the construction of their office at Vall Veng, New lamka. He also assured to help SCWA further if he is re-elected as MLA in the coming election.
