Security in Churachandpur improved: SP

Joint check posts will be set up in Churachandpur district where security personnel will conduct frisking and checking to control the movement of narcotics substances, arms and ammunition.

The security in Churachandpur district has improved and has been stable for the last 10 days without any incident of firing and provocation, due to the efforts made by the security forces and the cooperation of the public, Churachandpur SP Karthik Malladi said on Thursday.

Speaking at Press Conference at his official chamber at SP complex in Tuibong, the SP said that from Thursday, joint check posts will be set up where security personnel will conduct frisking and checking to control the movement of narcotics substances, arms and ammunition etc.

Appealing to the people to cooperate and not display arms in public as it affects the psychology of children and women, the SP said that the efforts of the security force are for the good of the public and anyone.

He also warned that anyone carrying arms and other illegal substances will be booked as per appropriate section of the law without any biases.

Markets are now open and the security is likely to improve with the district police aided by 15 companies of central forces and 10 columns of Army who are working 24/7 and maintaining the security of the district, said the SP.
