Security forces distribute free food items to widows, BPL women in Moreh

The Moreh Battalion organised free medical camp at Muslim Nagar Moreh on Monday. A total of 193 patients were examined by a team of doctors from Moreh Bn Unit Hospital, Gynaecologist from RIMS Imphal and trained Para-medical staff for various ailments.

Moreh battalion distributed a total of 100 packages containing rice, flour, sugar and fresh vegetables among widows and BPL women of all communities of the town. Since Covid-19 pandemic and closure of the International border, Assam Rifles has been continuously undertaking measures to alleviate the agony of the people of Moreh. The measures are primarily focused on creating infrastructure and encouraging the youth towards sports and skill development and providing relief material to the needy families and orphanage homes.

The Battalion also organised free medical camp at Muslim Nagar Moreh on Monday. A total of 193 patients were examined by a team of doctors from Moreh Bn Unit Hospital, Gynaecologist from RIMS Imphal and trained Para-medical staff for various ailments. Free medicines were also provided to all during the camp.

The aim of the camp was to provide free medical treatment and consultation to the villagers of Moreh town and nearby villages where medical facilities are not available due to remoteness of the location. Apart from providing medical assistance and medicines, information on hygiene, sanitation and awareness on Covid-19 pandemic, lifestyle diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, ladies health etc was given to the villagers by the Chief Medical Officer Moreh Bn and the visiting doctor Gynaecologist from RIMS Imphal.

All the events conducted by the battalions met with great enthusiasm and gratitude by the local populace. They expressed their happiness and acknowledgement towards the earnest efforts being made by Assam Rifles in bringing positive changes in their lives through such events, which makes the Force not just the sentinels of the NE for but also true friends of the people.
