Saramba Segment Voice (SSV) has once again appealed to the authorities concerned including the Public Work Department (PWD), District Administration and the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to review the alignment of Tamenglong-Haflong road immediately.
A statement issued by president of SSV, Loveson Kamei said that the general public living in the areas has observed that the new alignment made by the district administration is not up to the expectation of the people and particularly the people of Saramba Segment.
The SSV asked why the old alignment was dropped and adopted the new alignment which was already rejected by the BRTF. With every major and minor detail, it explains that the new alignment cannot make highway and international ways of high steeps and mountainous rocks, it added.
“We do not mean to touch every village and cross over but to connect more villages of the vast population with proper roads and transportations so that there will be more development,” said Loveson in the statement.
“We thanked the government, the district administration and the authorities concerned for bringing such a mega project in our areas which we have been longing for. However, we would also like to ask all the concerned responsible contractors and authorities to maintain quality in the interest of the people living in the areas. We have given ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) not for the interest of personal gain and self-style power in the general public, therefore we strongly warn that action and agitation will be imposed whenever it is necessary,” the president of SSV said.
