Salai Apunba Nupi Lamjing Lup (SANULAL) on Wednesday distributed essential commodities and emergency items to the displaced victims and village volunteers in different areas in the state during the organisation’s two days’ drive.
In a release, SANULAL general secretary Akoijam Shanti stated that the organisation distributed essential commodities and emergency items to the displaced victims and village volunteers at Leitanthabi Mangjil Kumbi, Sangaithel Ngarangbam and the relief and medical camps at Shyamasakhi High School and Brajalal Institute of Science, Moirangkhom.
It urged to the leaders of the state including the chief minister, ministers and the MLAs to go to Delhi and appeal for the restoration of peace and normalcy in the state promptly. “Now is not the time for the government to go around distributing condiments at the relief camps,” it read, adding that it is high time for the government to get a grip and devise a concreted solution to bring peace and normalcy in the state for the sake of all people including the displaced victims.
“We should be working towards dousing the flames first and then investigate the origin of the fire rather than the other way around,” it added.
