The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) on Tuesday announced the winners of Manipur State Journalist Award- 2022 with Sanaleibak daily sweeping the board as its scribes won all categories except for sports reporting category.
The announcement was made today by director, IPR Balkrisna Singh in the presence of the panel of jury and officials of DIPR at the Auditorium of the directorate.
The awardees for the eight award categories are Ningombam Hemantakumar of Sanaleibak daily for Best Editor Award on National Integration and Communal Harmony; Moirangthem Khagemba Meetei, reporter of Sanaleibak daily for reporting on Public Health and Hygiene; Moirangthem Khagemba Meetei, Reporter of Sanaleibak for Rural Reporting; Robinson Wahengbam, staff reporter of Sanaleibak daily for reporting on Art and Culture; Taorem Bishwajit Singh, Sub-Editor of Sanaleibak daily for Parliamentary Reporting; Maibam Kenedy Singh reporter of Sanaleibak daily for Science and Technology Reporting; Rabi Takhellambam, reporter of Sanaleibak daily for reporting on Women and Children and Khumukcham Joychand Singh, sub-editor of Hueiyen Lanpao for sports reporting.
The Manipur State Journalist Award, which was instituted in the year 1994, has been conferred every year to journalists of the state who published commendable news items, reports, features or articles published during the previous calendar year. The awards are to be distributed on National Press Day on November 16.
