Imphal-based Sanaleibak Pukei Pvt Ltd manager Tensubam Angamba Meitei on Thursday alleged that the company chairman along with its two employees have absconded with a sum of Rs 3,47,70,000 which belongs to the company.

The manager named the absconders as company founder and chairman Leishangthem Sanayai Meitei, son of late L Chandrakumar Meitei of Wangoo Tera Lupa Marup; its board of director Pungyambam Romio Singh, son of P Sunil Singh of Wangoo Hodam Leirak and its human resource manager Ningthoujam Dinesh Singh, son of N Indra Singh of Thanga Lawai.

At its office located at Changangei Ucheckon, Imphal West, Angamba Meitei told the media the three have been absconding along with the money, which the employees of the company collected from the public by providing them assurance to deliver benefits, he added.

The company also set targets to each employee and they were directed to collect money from any customer. The employees were told that they would get jobs at Benelli Bike showroom and Volkswagen showroom if their performance at the company was good, said Angamba.

He said the three remained "untraceable along with the said sum of Rs 3,47,70,000".

When the employees contacted the founder Sanayai, he answered that he is out of station but will discuss the matter after his return to the state, said Angamba.

When further enquiry was made to the family members, the employees were told that Sanayai reported that he had been kidnapped by the proscribed KCP outfit. Following it, Angamba made an appeal to release him so that he could give back the said money.

“In some local media, one of the absconders, Romio, alleged that he was kidnapped and physically assaulted by general secretary administration of Manipur Peoples’ Party (MPP) Haobijam Gitajen Meitei,” he said.

Angamba, however, clarified that the allegation is baseless.

“On Monday, Romio was called at the company’s office to finish some paperwork related to financial matters. Before leaving office that day, he told the employees that he will return the next day to complete the unfinished work,” said Angamba.

Appealing to the authority concerned to take legal action against the said three absconders, the manager said the company has filed a complaint at Imphal Police station.
