Confiscated Distilled Indigenous Country (DIC) liquor and Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 4,88,284 were disposed of by the Excise Enforcement Team, Thoubal at the Yairipok Excise office, Thoubal district on Sunday.
The disposed items also consisted of liquors confiscated by the Excise Enforcement Team, Thoubal district during the Manipur Assembly Election following the order of the Election Commission of India (ECI). It also consisted of confiscated liquors handed over by the different police stations in Thoubal and Kakching district.
The event was attended by Excise district level nodal officer P Ranjit, Thoubal Excise officer in-charge L Surchandra, Pallel Excise officer in-charge S Praphullo, Andro Police Station in-charge MD Rayajuddin, Yairipok Police Station in-charge MD Jaheruddin, Nongpok Sekmai Police Station in-charge K Premkumar along with the police personal.
Speaking on the occasion, P Ranjit said that the confiscated liquors consisted of 4,646 litres of Distilled Indigenous Country (DIC), 30,640 litres of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 9.5 litres of beer. He appealed to the public to stop selling and consuming drugs and alcohol.
