RIP RV Mingthing: Condolence continues to pour in

Several organisations in Manipur recalled RV Mingthing's contributions towards strengthening hill-valley relations.

Condolence messages for veteran politician and former Manipur minister RV Mingthing continued to pour in from across the state, including those from several organisations.

The Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), Manipur, Schedules Tribe Demand Committee of Manipur, United Peoples’ Front Manipur (UPF) and the Senior Citizens for Society, Imphal, Manipur condoled the demise of former minister of Manipur RV Mingthing in separate releases.

The organisations remembered the contributions made by the late minister to strengthen relations for peaceful coexistence between the people of the hills and valley of Manipur.

Members of NIPCO, CADA, MAPI COUNCIL, AMPFA, AMKIL, NUPI SAMAJ, TAMI-CHINGMI, EECHAL, THOUBAL IMA, UPACO, NIMPAL, NLANL, ANUL also joined in the condolence programme held at UPF office in Keishamthong and observed two minute silence for the departed soul.

Uttra Shanglen, Sana Konung and Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) also condoled the demise of the former minister of Manipur RV Mingthing in their separate press releases.

It may be recalled that RV Mingthing, former minister of Chingai constituency, passed away on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. He served as state minister from 1985 till 1989.
