After a gap of seven-eight years, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Imphal has geared up to fill as many as 435 vacant posts through a series of recruitment processes under the PM Rozgar Scheme since February.
Speaking to mediapersons at RIMS in Imphal on Saturday, RIMS director Dr M Priyosakhi informed that the institute has not organised any sort of permanent post recruitment since 2016.
Following the directive given by the Ministry, the institute has now started the recruitment process; she said, assuring that the selection of the staff will be done on merit basis and in a transparent manner.
Regarding all due process, the director sought support from the public and the aspirant candidates for conduction of the recruitment in a free and fair manner.
Such filling of the vacant posts will be a big help in the smooth functioning of the institute, she said, adding, “Development in RIMS is development for Manipur.”
Supplementing the director, medical superintendent of RIMS Prof N Sanjib said that lack of manpower in the institute due to numerous vacant posts was a big hindrance in strengthening the number of beds in ICU, wards and other departments.
Expressing his hope that the recruitment will be carried out according to the procedures and the recruitment will aid in smooth functioning of the institute, he said that such recruitment process under the Rozgar Scheme will help in filling up the vacant posts in a steady manner.
The Non-Medical Staff Association and Tribal Staff Welfare of RIMS representatives who attended the press briefing also lauded the effort of the new director Dr M Priyosakhi for her initiative by providing 100 per cent DA to the contractual staffs and overall welfare of the institute.
