RIMS inaugurates first ever ehospital system

eHospital token system was launched under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) for the first time, a release stated.

The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal inaugurated the first ever eHospital System (Scan and Share) on Wednesday during an event held in front of General OPD, RIMS Hospital, Imphal.

Mission Director, State Health Society, Manipur, Somorjit Ningombam; RIMS Medical Superintendent, Professor N Sanjib Singh and State Information Officer, National Informatics Centre, Government of India, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, N Binod Singh were present at the inaugural event, stated a release.

Speaking at the event, Somorjit Ningombam, stated that the eHospital token system was launched under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) for the first time, it stated. He asserted that the same will facilitate RIMS in management for public service by digitally linking, it said.

Every citizen regardless of their age can create Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID and the ID number that will be provided under ABDM, he said adding that through the ID numbers, digital health record history can be easily accessed anywhere. Somorjit pointed out that the system had already been started at Thoubal District hospital and Bishnupur District hospital and said that more than 8 lakhs people had already created ABHA IDs, it added.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor N Sanjib highlighted the inconveniences faced by doctors and patients due to overcrowding during OPD hours stating that around 2,500 patients attend OPD every day, it noted. He maintained that although the token system had been initiated during OPD, doctors and staff still face difficulties in management, it said. He asserted that the creation of ABHA IDs will minimize problems as well as benefit both RIMS and the public, it stated.

While, N Binod Singh appealed to all shareholders to raise public awareness on ABHA number and its importance and ensure better ease of living for the people in every angle with the digital world, it said. RIMS head of departments and faculties, principal of dental college & college of nursing, nursing officials and staff also attended the programme, it added.

Meantime, RIMS informed that the Department of Dermatology, RIMS has started CO2 Laser (for scar, wrinkle, acne etc.), PRP treatment (for facial rejuvenation/hair loss) and chemical peeling (for facial rejuvenation, melasma, acne etc.) in the Dermatology OPD, RIMS Hospital on every working Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm.
