RIMS appeal against disruption in movement of medical staff

Chief nursing officer of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Waikhom Ibeyaima, has appealed to all protesters not to disrupt the movement of RIMS medical staff during the 48-hour shutdown and stated that such restriction on movement of medical staff could be detrimental to dispensing medical care at the hospital.

Addressing the media at RIMS on Tuesday, Ibeyaima stated that all the medical staff at RIMS were well aware of the people’s sentiments and had been working selflessly to provide medical attention to those affected by the crisis.

“We understand how the people feel because of the long-drawn unrest but we have our duties to dispense for which we have to ply back and forth from our homes to the hospital,” she said.

As such, she appealed to all the protestors and women folk not to disrupt the movement of the RIMS medical staff and maintained that the staff were there to serve the people.
