Due to unavailability of stock the usual 1,000 bags of rice distributed per week to the CSOs was cut down to half this time. Moreover, many items like Dal, Potato, cooking oil, etc., were not distributed too due to unavailability of stock.

The distribution of rice and other essential materials was an issue as more than 17,000 IDPs are running out of relief material. There was no supply since February 15 thus forcing the CSOs to buy from shopkeepers and knocking on the doors of different Churches to feed the IDPs.

Reliable sources said that the distribution will resume soon when the supply arrives, which is likely to be the later part of this week or the early part of next week. It may be mentioned that the IDPs had on 21st February 2024  organised a protest due to the non-issuance of Relief items.
