Demanding for repairing of road between Ushoipokpi to Lilong Turel Ahanbi Bailey Bridge, Rural Areas United Club Organisation (RAUCO) has warned to launch agitation if the state government fails to fulfil their said demand on or before October 10.
Addressing the media after inspecting the road with a team of media persons on Wednesday, spokesperson of RAUCO Md Riyajuddin said that the stretch between Ushoipokpi to Lilong Turel Ahanbi is just one and half kilometre. But the state government does not pay any attention to improving the condition of the said road, he said.
Though the length of the road is short, it is one of the important routes and one has to pass through this stretch compulsorily to reach Imphal and many other government offices that reside at Thoubal, he said. However, the state government do not bother much about this road even though it is in dilapidated condition for quite a long time, he lamented.
The people residing in this side have been facing a lot of inconvenience due to poor road conditions and they strongly condemned the irresponsible act of the state government, he asserted. The state government should draw its attention in this regard at earliest, he said and warned that they would block the Asian Highway 102 as an intense form of agitation if their demand is not accomplished on or before October 10.
