With an objective to boost English learning in Manipur, a book entitled ‘Remedial English Guide Teach Me English’, compiled and edited by Tongbram Bira, was released at a function at the Manipur Press Club, Imphal on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Tongbram Bira highlighted that he had compiled and edited the book by studying various books by foreign grammarians and linguists.
"I compiled the book with an objective to make English learning and teaching easier in Manipur," he added.
He pointed out that students in Manipur are very weak in basic English writing and speaking skills even though most students in Manipur are enrolled in English medium schools.
He exuded confidence that the new book would enhance English learning among students while making it easier to teach basic English concepts.
MU former VC Hijam Tombi Singh, MU former VC H Nandakumar, Retd IIS PB Sharma, former AIR station director M Kanankumar and former DIG of Telecom organisation H Kullachandra among others were present during the release function.
