Churachand Higher Secondary School, 1994-96 passed out batch provided relief materials and monetary assistance to village defense volunteers at various affected places of Imphal West district on Monday.
Many people in the state are suffering due to the ongoing crisis since May 3. To protect the villages located at the peripheral areas of Manipur, many youths of different villages are working as village defense volunteers.
The relief materials and monetary assistance were given to the Koutruk, Imphal West; Tronglaobi, Bishnupur district and to the frontlines of Phubala to assist the village defense volunteers.
Khundrakpam Romesh, a representative of the group, said that since May 3, Kuki narco terrorists have been continuing their attack towards the Meitei villages. Many houses located at the peripheral areas had been destroyed and arsoned, he said.
To assist the affected people, each member of the group donated and provided the relief materials and monetary assistance of Rs 15,000.
He further appealed to the authority concerned to bring a solution to the present crisis in order to bring back normalcy as before.
