Taragi Cheishu on Thursday appealed to the state authorities to rein in the brewing tension in Manipur and maintained that the “tension” was inappropriate during the prolonged turmoil boiling in the state.
Speaking to the media at Taragi Cheishu office in Imphal, chairperson Khaidem Mani condemned the “unfortunate” actions meted out against an official of the state security force.
“Such an act during the onslaught of Kuki narco terrorists is very untimely and wavers the unity of the people,” he said.
He also reminded the government not to forget why the people appealed for the removal of central forces in the first place.
He highlighted that the state forces had been chained and could not appease the people’s security demands while the people called for the removal of central forces.
“The uproar is founded on strong conviction and not on mere conviction,” he said.
He further stated that the people’s demand should not be taken lightly and added that the authorities must address all issues which could hinder the state’s progress timely.
