The Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF), a proscribed underground organisation, observed its 11th raising day at its headquarter on Thursday and called for cooperation among the communities and development in Manipur.
Army Chief Vapaimi Zimik addressed the function and called for cooperation among the cadres and conveyed his wishes on the occasion.
Zimik also said in Western Southeast Asia (WESEA) region most of the insurgents have been struggling for an independent Manipur for the last 50 years. However, MNRF is one of the young outfits, he said.
MNRF is not only for Nagas, but it is struggling for an independent Manipur of Meitei, Naga, Kuki, Pangaal and other communities with an ideology of oneness for the same goal, he added.
The goal of the entire insurgents could be fulfilled by working in cooperation, he added.
The observation was also attended by chief of army staff-MPA M Chaoba and secretary of minority affairs, of a proscribed underground organisation, TD Khuman Chiru, assistant secretary, MNRF; general staff officers, MNRF; NCOs and cadres of MNRF, the press note stated
