CAF and PD Minister L Susindro alias Yaima on Tuesday alleged that All India Congress Committee (AICC) leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Manipur is just for show and to take political mileage by using Manipur violence as a tool.

Speaking to the media at his residence in Imphal, Susindro said the Congress won the two seats of Manipur in the recent 18th Lok Sabha election with political propaganda that PM Modi is silent on the Manipur issue.

“Modi has already highlighted the Manipur crisis three times after the May 3 incident. People should understand that the Prime Minister need not speak about Manipur every day,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party misled the people of Manipur as they are making separate statements to Meitei and Kuki so that the party can please both communities, he added.

The Congress party is misleading the people of Manipur by saying that PM Modi does not speak about Manipur. People should understand that the Congress party is lying as Modi has already spoken about Manipur three times, Susindro stated.

He added that the memorandum of ITLF submitted to Rahul Gandhi stating that “the political settlement stipulated in the Congress party’s manifesto must be fulfilled” shows that the Congress party is going to disintegrate Manipur.

The state government has already lifted the tripartite agreement of Suspension of Operation with Kuki militants who have an intention of disintegrating Manipur. The said agreement was signed during the period of Congress, and the two MPs of Manipur should clarify the matter, he added.

Responding to the media, Susindro said he does not have knowledge of whether the Centre and Kuki militants are continuing the SoO agreement or not. He alleged that the Kuki MLAs have not been in touch with him since the violence erupted; however, CM N Biren Singh might have contact with them.

If the Congress party has guts, then they should agree on the implementation of NRC in Manipur, he added. He repeated that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi came to Manipur to disintegrate the territorial boundary of Manipur.
