Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) organised a public meeting on ‘Nishana Khunnaida Piba Cheitheng Amasung Masibu Thingbada Meeyam gi Thoudang’ at Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai Keithel Shang in Kakching district on Sunday.
In a release, CADA stated that Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai Unit organised the public meeting on ‘Nishana Khunnaida Piba Cheitheng Amasung Masibu Thingbada Meeyam gi Thoudang’ (Effects of Drugs in the Society and the Role of Public in Stopping It) as part of CADA’s campaign for the eradication of drug abuse in the state.
The event was attended by senior meira paibi Elangbam (O) Somola, CADA Kakching District Committee president Sorokhaibam Nena, and CADA vice president Ningthoujam Doren as the presidium members, along with CAD general secretary Geetchandra Mangang as the resource person, it stated.
Speaking on the occasion, Geetchandra Mangang talked on the importance of such awareness programmes in the society and encouraged the participants to be resilient in the fight against drug abuse, it added.
Mentioning that drug abuses have claimed many lives in the recent years, Elangbam (O) Somola commended the public of Hiyanglam Mayai leikai for being proactive in stopping drug abuse, it stated.
