Public discourses on ‘No Separate Administration in Manipur’ held in many areas of Bishnupur district on Friday condemned the attempt to form a ‘separate administration’ in the state.
The programme organised under the banner of the All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) was taken part by various CSOs and Meira paibis of Bishnupur district, stated a release.
It was held at Senjelleipokpi Community Hall, Irengbam, Ningthoukhong market, Kumbi Lamlong, Wangoo Parking and Terakhong playground, etc. it stated.
The public meeting condemned efforts being taken up to malign the image of the Meitei community abroad all the while covering the atrocities carried out by the armed Kuki militants against the innocent civilians, it stated.
Attendees discussed various agendas including stepping up relief and rehabilitation of the affected victims, stopping militarisation in Manipur, withdrawing SoO truce with Kuki militants immediately and flushing them out from Manipur among others, it mentioned.
Meanwhile, AMUCO also urged the government to take befitting actions against the Kuki militants and further reiterated its commitment to protect the people and integrity of the state at all costs, it added.
AMUCO former president Ito Tongbram, advisor Y Mani Khuman, president Ph Nando Luwang, secretary general Norendro Thokchom, AMUCO vice president K Helen and many others were present during the discussion, it added.
