Property worth Rs 24 lakh destroyed in fire at North AOC

A fire broke out at a rented building located at North AOC in Imphal on Thursday afternoon, damaging six rooms and destroying properties worth around Rs. 24 lakh.

Fortunately, there were no reports of any causality or severe injuries, though a few individuals reported minor injuries due to the fire. All of them are out of danger.

The fire, which is believed to have started from an electric short circuit, destroyed six rented rooms owned by one Doctor Zamir.

The timely response of Manipur Fire Service personnel, prevented further spread of the fire. It nearly took one hour to completely put off the fire.

Eye witness reported that they heard a loud blast sound once, and it is suspected to be from the explosion of a cooking gas cylinder.
