Procure necessary documents, cards for further treatment: JNIMS

JNIMS Medical Superintendent Dr Kh Lokeshwar said that as many as 273 patients with serious injuries, 214 MLC case inquiries, and 240 inmates from various relief camps including 92 pregnant women have been given treatment at the hospital since May.

Relief Committee JNIMS on Thursday advised inmates of all relief camps who want to avail medical treatment at JNIMS Hospital to procure identity cards issued under the nodal officer and the medical officer of the Relief Committee before July 7 for further medical treatment.

The committee added that inmates could also avail of medical treatment under the PMJY and CMHT scheme of the government.

Speaking to the media at JNIMS hospital, JNIMS Medical Superintendent Dr Kh Lokeshwar stated that the changes had been made for convenience in dispensing medical treatment at the hospital.

“We have made the changes because of the long drawn out crisis; we also urge authorities concerned to set up proper channels through which relief camps inmates can easily procure CMHT or PMJY cards,” he said.

He highlighted that the hospital had dispensed medical treatment as a Tertiary Care hospital from May 3 to all affected people. Even with shortages in resources, the hospital has made it a priority to provide the best treatment to all patients, he added.

He noted that since May, as many as 273 patients with serious injuries, 214 MLC case inquiries, and 240 inmates from various relief camps including 92 pregnant women had been given treatment at the hospital.

Of the 92, as many as 72 women have had deliveries, while 21 are still admitted in the hospital’s maternity ward, he added.

Meanwhile, the Relief Committee JNIMS on Thursday informed all those who wish to avail medical treatments provided by the Committee at JNIMS Hospital to send all the required details to the respective nodal officer or medical officer.

The committee, in a release, stated that the same will be implemented from August 7 onwards,  

It urged the respective relief camp organiser and government officials to ensure fitting jobs to those staying at the camps. It also appealed to the doctors and medical representatives to donate medicine samples to aid in treatment of the victims.
