Convenor of People Action Committee (PAC) against the brutal killing of Pravish Chanam, L Pichu, said that the committee will knock on the door of the Supreme Court of India if the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) fails to bring any development in the case.

Pichu was speaking during the 5th death anniversary of late Pravish Chanam held at his residence located at Uripok Achom Leikai, Imphal West on Friday.

Pichu said the body of Pravish was found cremated in a suspicious manner on September 9, 2017 despite the family members having filed a missing report at Greater Noida police station, Uttar Pradesh.

He said the body was cremated in a suspicious manner that seems to have some criminal conspiracy. Due to that reason, the PAC was formed and launched various forms of agitation in Manipur, he added.

To investigate the matter, the case was handed over to the CBI. However, till date, no development has been brought, Pichu lamented, adding that the failure to bring development shows that CBI has weakness in the case.

Meanwhile, floral tributes were paid to late Pravish Chanam. Leaders from various civil society organisations attended the death anniversary.
