The ‘Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me Guwahati’ celebrated its 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee on Saturday at Shilpgram, Guwahati under the theme ‘Roots and Wings: Together in Strength and Spirit for Excellence’.
The programme was attended by MLA, 47-Karong AC, Manipur J Kumo Sha as the chief guest, founder, Hornbill Food and Marketing Daikho Moses Kesamai as guest of honour for the event.
A souvenir to commemorate the historic event was released by the chief guest.
MLA J Komu Sha in his speech emphasised on the theme and reminded the audience not to forget one’s roots and shared how the elders have struggled to bring them thus far. He congratulated the leaders, both past and present, on the momentous occasion.
Thomas Thailu, OSD, Department of Planning and Transformation, government of Nagaland, who also served as the first general secretary in his exhortation reminisced the history of the Union and how it was formed with much hardship and struggle.
The event was organised under the leadership of Bolounii Kyapaomai, president and Gracy Paongaomai, general secretary, acting as convenor and co-convenor respectively and assisted by the Executive Council and Organizing Committee members appointed for the celebration.
The Vafiimai students in Guwahati dressed in traditional attire presented a cultural dance. Ziikhu Titus Tyaletya from Koide, Senapati also performed as a guest artist with much applause and cheers from the audience.
