Six ministers of the BJP-led government, including Chief Minister N Biren Singh, were on Saturday allocated with portfolios wherein the chief minister retained the Home Department and keeps Finance.
In addition, the chief minister also got Confidential and Cabinet Department, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department, Information and Technology Department and any other department not specifically allocated.
Th Biswajit, who was reportedly in the race for the chief minister post, and held seven portfolios in the previous term was allotted with only four portfolios. While he retained the Power Department but the Public Work Department was handed to Konthoujam Govindas Singh.

Nevertheless, Biswajit was also given the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department, Agriculture Department and Science and Technology Department.
Minister Konthoujam Govindas Singh, who was elected from Bishnupur constituency for the seventh time in a row, was given Public Works Department and Youth Affairs and Sports Department.
Former Manipur Speaker Yumnam Khemchand Singh, who was widely expected to be the Speaker again, was given Municipal Administration, Housing and Urban Development (MAHUD) Department, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department and Education Department.

Former Social Welfare Department Minister Nemcha Kipgen was given Textiles, Commerce and Industry Department and Co-operation Department. However, she did not get the Social Welfare Department.
Minister Awangbow Newmai, president of the Naga People’s Front (NPF), Manipur unit was allocated Water Resources Department and Relief and Disaster Management Department.
