As the COVID-19 situation in the state improves, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday informed that physical classes for standard IX and above will resume in the state within a week. Schools in the state remained closed down in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The chief minister made the statement during the launch of Face-to-Face Coaching Classes under the Chief Minister’s Civil Services Scholarship Scheme (CMCSSS) at the State Academy of Training, Takyelpat in Imphal West.
CMCSSS will commence the coaching classes providing 100 per cent scholarship to the top 150 students worth Rs 1.6 crore and subsidised scholarship for the remaining 300. The students were selected through an entrance exam which was conducted in different corners of the state, the chief minister said in a Facebook post.
CM Biren also informed that the Olympian Park with the statues of 16 Olympians will be inaugurated soon.
Meanwhile, Education Minister S Rajen Singh said the State Academy for Training is the temporary coaching centre and it will shift to a permanent place at Don Bosco School, Iroishemba.
