Pherzawl celebrates 76th Independence Day

The district administration has been working hard to develop the required infrastructures, bring good governance which is transparent and inclusive for the people of Pherzawl, DC Joseph Pauline Kamson said.

The 76th Independence Day was celebrated at Pherzawl district where the Deputy Commissioner of Pherzawl, Joseph Pauline Kamson hoisted the National Tri-Colour and took salute of the marching contingents commanded by Golamthang Hatzaw, MPS, SDPO Thanlon. The contingents comprised Civil Police & VDF, Students and HYA Women.

Addressing the gathering, the DC said that despite the challenge of the district being located in the remotest part of the state, the district administration has been working hard to develop the required infrastructures, bring good governance which is transparent and inclusive for the people of Pherzawl. He also highlighted the many flagship initiatives taken up.

The DC pointed out that various projects under the Ministry of DONER, NEC and under RIDF with NABARD funding, the ongoing construction of helipad at Parbung selected by Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India for helicopter services under the Regional Connectivity System - UDE DESH KA AAM NAGRIC 2.0 Scheme.

Citing that other departments too are taking up various work programmes for the benefit of the people of the District, the DC conveyed that various welfare schemes are implemented under ZEO & DSWO and PWD is expeditiously taking up improvement and construction of roads. One Stop Centre is also fully functional now at Pherzawl DHQ, stated the DC.

Lauding PHC Sibapurikhal and CHC Parbung under the leadership of the CMO for bagging the much prestigious Kayakalp Award & Commendation, the DC said COVID Vaccination has achieved more than 85 per cent in the district with no single case of COVID death.

A Ghanashyam Sharma, MPS, SP Pherzawl, DLOs, CSOs and Chief/Chairman of different villages, among others, attended the grand Independence Day Celebration.
