‘People should control their anger to reduce violence’

The present crisis in Manipur can be solved by the central government by taking appropriate measures, etired Indian Navy Captain L Bimolchand Singh said.

People of Manipur should control their anger until an amicable solution is brought about which will also be able to defend the integrity of Manipur in the present crisis, said retired Indian Navy Captain L Bimolchand Singh.

He was speaking to the media while releasing his book “My Father and the Street Vendor of Khwairamband Bazaar” at Hindi Parisad, Imphal on Sunday.

He said the present crisis in Manipur can be solved by the central government by taking appropriate measures. And if the government fails to bring an amicable solution to the crisis, though it’s mellowed down now, it can escalate any time, he said.

Elected representatives of the state need to play an important role by pressing the central government to amend certain acts of the Indian constitution so that integrity of the state could be protected, he added.

The book was published by BlueRose Publishers in May and distributed by BlueRose, Amazon and Flipkart.
The book narrates the life story of the author highlighting the struggles he faced in his life. In the book he has even highlighted the socio-political scenarios of Manipur.

He is the eldest son to a mentally-challenged ‘t father and a street vendor mother.

Bimolchand became the only naval officer from Manipur in the early 80’s. His younger brother became a vice-chancellor of a university and the youngest brother was one of the pioneers of computer printing technology in the state.

His book gives the message “Never Give Up”. It is dedicated to his mother Laishram Rebatisana Devi and the indomitable spirit of the women vendors of Manipur.
