Renowned singer and traditional trumpet expert Kl Ruben Anal, as the main teacher, imparted the knowledge of Pengkhol (traditional trumpet) to the participants. Besides teaching how to play the trumpet, he also taught the participants the art of making the trumpet, the variety of bamboo used for making the trumpet and the traditional history behind it.

The workshop witnessed a good number of participants from Chakpikarong area who expressed gratitude for the knowledge imparted on the traditional music.

Wl Jonah Ningtung Anal, Social and Culture secretary of the ALT-GHQ, said that the workshop was much needed in these times considering how such traditional music and the instruments are fading.

With the advancement of technology and such, traditional things are being left behind and it is vital that we preserve them, Ningtung said. And we came up with this particular workshop to revive and preserve Pengkhol, the traditional trumpet, among the Anal Community.

He informed that there are just a handful from the community who can play the Pengkhol and it was important that it was passed on to the next generation.
