The Tamenglong district administration has appealed to all parents in the district to get their children fully vaccinated to protect them from vaccine preventable diseases, particularly during Intensified Mission Indradhanush IMI 4.O rounds and thereafter in the routine immunization sessions in the outreach as well as in the fixed sessions at all the health centres regularly.
Tamenglong Deputy Commissioner Hungyo Worshang made the appeal during the launching programme of the Intensified Mission Indradhanush IMI 4.O Tamenglong at the conference hall of CMO office complex, Tamenglong HQ on Monday.
Worshang further appealed to all the ANMs, ASHAs and other team members to carry out the Intensified Mission Indradhanush IMI 4.O activities with maximum effort to achieve full immunization of children with more than 98 per cent in the district.
He also appealed to all the AWWs, teachers, police, paramilitary forces, government and private vehicle owners, NGOs, NYKs, other district, state and national level officers to help and cooperate with the vaccination teams in their activities for smooth implementation of the programme in humanitarian grounds.
District immunization officer Tamenglong Dr Sunil Kamei highlighted about the upcoming intensified mission Indradhanush IMI 4.O rounds. He said that intensified mission Indradhanush aims and plans for the immunization sessions for the dropout, missed-out children below two years of age and pregnant women in the villages as outreach sessions under three health blocks of Tamenglong district, including Tamenglong block, Tamei block and Tousem block.
The session sites under the District Hospital Tamenglong are Tamei PHC, Tousem PHC and Oinamlong PHC, he informed.
The target for children is 281, while for pregnant women, the target is 160 and there will be three rounds consisting of seven days every month from March 7, April 4 and May 2, 2022, he added.
The planned total session sites in Tamenglong is 111, while the district total target children is 284 with 159 target pregnant women for the first round of IMI 4.O.
The objective of this intensified mission Indradhanush 4.O (IMI 4.O) is to cover all the IMI 4.O targeted children and pregnant women and other children and pregnant women in the villages.
CMO Tamenglong Dr Majachunglu Gangmei also spoke about the importance of fully immunization of all children under two years.
She also mentioned that the rate of sick children and number of children admitted in the hospitals due to vaccine preventable diseases have been drastically reduced which is the result of regular immunization of children.
Intensified Mission Indradhanush (which is a special vaccination drive of routine immunization of some missed out or dropout children and Pregnant women) targeted children under two years and some pregnant women.
